Does Google still show recipe rich results?
Yes. Google's documentation still lists recipe rich results in Google Search and Google Images, including a host carousel when you add ItemList markup to a summary page. Valid markup makes a page eligible but does not guarantee the rich result, which Google decides per query and per page quality.
How do I add recipe schema in WordPress?
Most food blogs use a recipe card plugin that outputs Recipe JSON-LD automatically, so check your page source before adding more. What is recipe schema markup?
Recipe schema markup is structured data based on the schema.org Recipe type. It tells search engines the dish name, images, ingredients, steps, times and nutrition in a fixed format, so Google can show the page as a recipe rich result with an image, cooking time and other details.
Should I add aggregateRating to my recipe schema?
Only if real visitors rate the recipe on your page and you show that rating. Never type in a made up rating or copy ratings from another site. Fake ratings break Google's structured data policies and can lead to a manual action that removes rich results.
What format does Google use for cooking times?
Google expects ISO 8601 durations. PT15M means 15 minutes, PT1H means 1 hour and PT1H30M means 1 hour 30 minutes. Use totalTime, or both prepTime and cookTime. This generator converts minutes into the right format for you.
Why does Google need recipeYield for calories?
Calories are read per serving, so Google needs to know how many servings the recipe makes. Its documentation says nutrition.calories requires recipeYield. Always enter the serving count when you add calories.
Should I number the steps in recipeInstructions?
No. Google advises against step numbers and labels such as Step 1 or Directions inside the text, because the order of HowToStep items already shows the sequence. This tool strips leading numbers from each line automatically.
Does the tool upload my recipe?
No. The generator runs in your browser with plain JavaScript. Your recipe text, image URLs and generated code stay on your device and are not sent to any server.
