Traffic Value Calculator
A traffic value calculator is a tool that puts a money value on organic search traffic. For each keyword it…
Estimate revenue, profit, ROI and payback period from your SEO spend and organic traffic.
Traffic grows in a straight line from 0 to your target over the ramp up months, then stays flat. Set ramp up to 0 for full traffic from month 1.

The free seo roi calculator runs in your browser, needs no sign-up and never sends what you type anywhere.
An SEO ROI calculator compares the profit from extra organic traffic with what you spend on SEO. ROI = (gross profit from SEO minus SEO cost) ÷ SEO cost × 100. Use profit, not revenue, include a ramp up period because rankings take months to grow, and judge SEO over at least 12 months.
An SEO ROI calculator is a tool that estimates the return on your SEO investment. It multiplies extra organic visits by conversion rate, average order value and profit margin, then applies ROI = (profit minus cost) ÷ cost × 100 over your chosen period.

SEO ROI = (gross profit from organic traffic minus SEO cost) ÷ SEO cost × 100. If SEO costs $18,000 a year and brings $36,000 in gross profit, ROI is 100%. Use only the extra organic traffic SEO created, and measure clicks in Search Console's Performance report.
Many sites need several months before SEO profit covers its cost, because rankings and traffic grow gradually. The payback month depends on competition, site authority and how valuable each visitor is, so model a ramp up period instead of assuming full traffic from month one.
Any ROI above 0% means SEO earned more gross profit than it cost over the period. Compare it with your other channels, such as paid ads, using the same margin and time frame, and remember organic traffic often keeps coming after the spend stops.
| Input | Example value | Effect on ROI |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly SEO cost | $1,500 | Higher cost lowers ROI and delays payback |
| Extra organic visits per month | 4,000 | More visits raise revenue in direct proportion |
| Conversion rate | 2% | Doubling it doubles revenue |
| Average order value | $120 | Higher value raises revenue per conversion |
| Gross margin | 40% | Turns revenue into profit before SEO cost |
| Ramp up months | 6 | Longer ramp delays payback |
Example: SEO costs $1,500 a month for 12 months ($18,000). Traffic ramps up over 6 months to 4,000 extra visits a month. At a 2% conversion rate and $120 order value that is $9,600 revenue a month at full speed, or $3,840 gross profit at a 40% margin. Over 12 months gross profit is $36,480, so ROI = (36,480 minus 18,000) ÷ 18,000 × 100 = 102.67%, with payback in month 4.
Use gross profit. Revenue ignores the cost of the products or services you sell, so it overstates the return. Enter 100% margin only if revenue is almost pure profit, such as some software or lead generation businesses.
Start from Search Console clicks before SEO work, then estimate the growth you expect from target keywords using search volume and realistic click through rates. Only count traffic SEO actually adds, not visits you already had.
The ramp up period is the number of months before extra organic traffic reaches its full level. This calculator grows traffic in a straight line from zero to your target over those months, which is a simplification of real ranking growth.
Yes. Enter your lead conversion rate as the conversion rate and the average profit per lead as the order value, with a 100% margin. If only some leads become customers, multiply lead value by your close rate first.
A negative ROI means gross profit over the period is lower than SEO cost. Try a longer horizon, check whether your traffic target is realistic, or improve conversion rate and order value, which raise ROI without needing more rankings.
It is an estimate based on your inputs. Real results depend on competition, algorithm updates, seasonality and attribution. Use it to compare scenarios and set expectations, then track actual organic revenue in your analytics to measure real ROI.
