Link Price Estimator: what it does and an example result

The free backlink price calculator runs in your browser, needs no sign-up and never sends what you type anywhere.

Quick answer

A backlink price calculator estimates a fair price range for a guest post or link insertion from the site organic traffic, authority tier, niche and link type. Rule of thumb: price follows real organic traffic more than authority scores, and any paid placement should be marked rel="sponsored" or nofollow.

What is a link price estimator?

A backlink price calculator is an estimating tool. This one sets a base price from monthly organic traffic tiers, multiplies it by factors for authority tier, niche and link type, adds 25 dollars when article writing is included, and shows a range from 0.7x to 1.4x of the result.

  1. Enter the site monthly organic traffic from your SEO tool or the publisher media kit.
  2. Pick the authority tier (DR or DA) that you have checked yourself.
  3. Choose the niche and whether it is a new guest post or an insertion into an existing article.
  4. Tick whether the price includes writing the article.
  5. Compare the estimated range with the quote you were given before agreeing.

How much does a backlink cost?

Typical publisher quotes run from about 30 to 500 dollars per link, and 1,000 dollars or more on major media sites. Price mostly tracks real organic traffic, niche and authority. Very cheap links often come from link farms, and any paid link should carry rel="sponsored" or nofollow under Google policy.

Is buying backlinks against Google guidelines?

Buying links that pass ranking credit is link spam under Google policy. Paying for advertising or sponsorship is allowed when the link is qualified with rel="sponsored" or nofollow, as explained in Google spam policies. This calculator helps you judge quotes, not avoid those rules.

Why do link insertions cost less than guest posts?

Link insertions usually cost about 20 to 30% less because the publisher does not need to edit or publish a new article. The trade off is that the existing page context is fixed, so the link only helps users if the article is truly about your topic.

20,000 to 49,999$100$70 to $140 + writing

200,000 and above$300$210 to $420 + writing

Worked example

Example

Example: a tech blog with 8,000 organic visits a month and DR 45 gives a 60 dollar base. Multipliers are 1.0 for authority, 1.2 for tech and 1.0 for a guest post, so 60 x 1.2 = 72, plus 25 for writing = 97. The fair range is about 70 to 135 dollars.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the calculator use traffic more than DR or DA?

Authority scores from third party tools are easy to inflate and are not Google metrics. Real organic traffic shows that Google already sends visitors to the site. Use both, but trust a site with steady traffic over one with a high score and no visitors.

Where do I find a site organic traffic?

Use estimates from tools like Semrush, Ahrefs or Similarweb, or ask the publisher for a Search Console or analytics screenshot. Tool estimates can be far off, so check the trend over 6 to 12 months and the main country of visitors.

Are the prices in this tool real market data?

No. The tool uses simple rule of thumb multipliers to give a sense check, not live marketplace prices. Quotes vary widely by publisher, language and demand. Use the range to spot quotes that look far too high or suspiciously cheap.

Do sponsored or nofollow links have value?

Yes. They can send referral traffic, reach a relevant audience and build brand awareness. Google treats these attributes as hints for ranking, but the main reason to buy a placement should be the audience, not ranking credit.

What makes a link price too cheap?

Prices under about 20 dollars on a site claiming high authority are a warning sign. They often point to link farms, hacked sites or sites that publish anything for money. Those links can be ignored by Google or lead to a manual action.

Is my input stored or shared?

No. All calculations run in your browser with plain JavaScript. The traffic and niche you enter are not uploaded, saved or tracked, and refreshing the page resets the defaults.
